Nama ini diambil dari ciri khas kulit buahnya yang keras dan berlekuk-lekuk tajam sehingga menyerupai duri.

Buah durian biasanya dimakan dengan ketan atau dipadang disebut dengan "sipiluik atau nasi lamak". Namun ada beberapa inovasi yang sudah dihasilkan bagi pecinta durian dengan berbagai cara menikmatinya, seperti dibuat dalam bentuk pancake, bahkan Ice Cream.

Berikut resepnya:

Bahan:

250 ml whipcream cair

150 ml susu cair (saya pake UHT ultramilk)

150 ml yogurt plain (cimory)

100 gr creamchese

1 sdm sponge 28

1 kg daging durian untuk campuran

1 kg daging durian untuk topping

1 kaleng susu kental manis

Cara buat:

-Whipcream di mixer sama sponge 28

-Udah kembang masukan susu,yogurt,daging durian,cream chesse.Sampai bener-bener nyatu semua

-Masukan kedalam cup, Taruh 1sdm daging durian siram susu kental manis

Udah selesai

Bisa dapat 33 – 35cup ukuran besar
